BOSS Boxing System for Strips
Your strips are made. Now box them — automatically.

Overview
The BOSS system handles the secondary packaging of tablet, caplet and capsule strips. The BOSS-I EAX takes the continuous web coming from a strip packer, inspects it for missing tablets, cuts it into strips, then counts and collates them into stacks while automatically rejecting faulty strips — running speed-synchronised to the upstream strip sealer at up to 80 cuts per minute. Collated strips can then pass to the BOSS-II strip cartoner, which inserts them into pre-glued, end-opening reverse-tuck cartons at 15 to 20 cartons per minute. Both modules are PLC-controlled with AC variable-frequency drives, centralised lubrication and full safety interlocks for continuous pharmaceutical production.

This Machine Is for You If...
You need high-speed pharmaceutical strip boxing for Pharmaceutical Industry production
You're upgrading from manual processes to automated blister pack packaging
You need a machine that delivers fully automated strip inspection
How It Works
- 1
Incoming strips or blisters are accumulated and arranged (and, on inspecting variants, checked and cut to length as needed).
- 2
Strips are oriented and counted to the correct quantity per carton.
- 3
The counted stack — plus a leaflet where required — is loaded into an erected carton.
- 4
The carton is closed by tuck or glue.
- 5
The finished boxed carton is discharged for overwrapping or bundling.
The BOSS is a secondary-packaging system that collates, counts and boxes pharmaceutical blister or strip packs into cartons — automating the otherwise error-prone manual count-and-insert step downstream of primary strip packing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does BOSS do that a strip-packing machine does not?
The strip-packing machine seals tablets into strips (primary packing); BOSS collates, counts, orients and boxes those strips into cartons (secondary packing).
Does it count strips automatically?
Count control is a core function of strip-boxing systems — correct count is a critical quality check. Confirm the counting and inspection method with MOI.
What box sizes can it handle?
Carton size and strip-count-per-box are tooling-dependent; request the configurable carton range and counts from MOI.
